I am a baby! I just got me a GL2 a quick question? Please help

After reading from all of you Pro People which I thank, I got me a canonGL2

I have a VL10video light and i am buying the Sennheiser MKE300 mic,
I want to have both running or attach to the GL2 so that i can record the sounds and at the same time have the light on.
Do i need to buy the canon MA-300 mic adapter or what do i need buy
or can someone give me some tips

Thank you Very Much

The MA-300 includes an accessory shoe at the top so you can mount your VL-10i up there. Just be careful because the entire assembly is plastic and all that stuff will put a lot of stress on the GL2's hot shoe.

Thanks Chris Hurd

Mr. Hurd
What if instead i buy the Azden pro wireless mic system
Is that a better route to go? without hurting the shoe mount, and if so how will i connect both the
wireless mic and the light, is there a device that can do that and
please where can i buy it from.
Many Thanks

Regards

Bracket 1 for your wireless receiver

You can use a device such as the Bracket 1 to hold your wireless receiver. I use one on my GL2 and it works well.

http://www.bracket1.com/

You can buy them from B&H.

Don't Use Metal

Avoid using a bracket that has a metal mounting plate. The shoe on a GL-2 is a smart shoe for connecting a video light or a microphone. According to Canon tech support, a metal plate placed in a smart shoe might damage the camera. This was not a problem with a GL1 which did not have a smart shoe.
