Hm . . What should I do?
Okay guys so here is the problem.
My GL2 displays bars when I am playing back a tape or after I record. Definately a head issue. I have only been using Panasonic Master Tapes until one day my teacher needed a VTR and used my camera after school. He stuck in a different tape (obviously not the ones I use). The thing is I am not sure if this could cause such a problem, but its the only reason I have right now. My Canon 1 year warranty is now over however I still have a Mack warranty. I have heard many dreaded stories of sending equipment to Mack (I did not know this purchasing this extended warranty from Zotz Digital 2 years ago). Am I better off of trying to buy Canon cleaning tape or sending it to Mack? Also when I record, I played it back on an external Panasonic VTR and not only do I see bars capturing in FCP but also really messed up audio. Any tips? Thanks guys. -Phong

Buy any brand name head cleaner cassette and run it. You may be pleasantly surprised. The probability is higher that the heads suddenly got too dirty, than that they were suddenly ruined.
