Mounting bracket
I was looking at a Audio Technica mounting bracket that would Allows the attachment of a microphone mount to a camcorder accessory shoe. It appears to be made of brass and was concerned that it might cause electrical problem with the hot shoe. Will this cause me problems? If so could you recommend an alternative adaptor please.
Thanks, Steve |

Hmm. Depends, I think. On the Advanced Accessory Shoe, that connection is recessed just a bit and the powered add-ons have a bit of a "toe" where the contacts are. I'm doubting that a normal mic foot will fit into that shoe without touching the contacts, but I'm not certain. No guarantee you won't have problems, but... proceed with caution!

Thanks for the reply Chris. I was hoping someone would recommend an alternative mount. I have a shock mount with standard threads that I would like to use with my GL-2 but haven't been able to find a shoe mount to match up with it made of resin or plastic.
