VL3 vs. VL10i lighting

Can someone point me to the VL10i power source so I know what I'll need. If I understand this correctly, the VL3 uses the camera's battery while the 10 requires an external power source...do I have that correct?

it uses a battery

you simply slide one of your extra camera batteries onto the back of the light. it's not powered from the shoe like the vl3.
