Mounting AT835b on GL2

Is it possible to camera mount using a MA-300, the AT835b shotgun mic and not have it in the frame?

It is 14.5" long and that seems pretty long to me.

Anybody using one of these on their camera?

Thanks

I've used one for years mounted on my GL1, on the hot shoe.
It doesn't get in frame, but in retrospect I wish I would have bought a shorter model.

It's a great mic, but a bit unwieldy wiht the GL.

Make sure you don't ride it all the way up to the edge of the frame. The LCD crops a little bit, and it's possible that you could have the edge of the mic in frame and not realize it until later.

But, again, to answer your question, I've never had a problem with it getting in frame.
