Analog > Digital via XM2 - problems

hi all.

I'm trying to capture footage from VHS to my computer via my XM2

I've done just as the manual says:

plug scart output from VHS player to S-Video socket on camera (the manual assures me that both composite socket & S-video socket can be used as video inputs)

with the camera in record pause I should be able to see the image from the playing VHS on my LCD screen, but it is black.

Have just tested cable by plugging S-Video into socket on my computer graphics card, & scart of TV, picture comes thru fine, the scart end has all the pins.

this is the first time I've tried this. Anyone have any ideas?

cheers

Hagop

SCART connexion bidirectional

Sorry my english is very bad. If you use the SCART connection included in the Canon pack you never can convert analog video to digital video. THE SCART CONNECTION IS UNIDIRECTIONAL.

YOU MUST BY A BIDIRECTIONAL (IN/OUT) SCART CONNECTION.

I had the same problem and I solve it buying a BIDIRECTIONAL SCART CONNECTION.

SCART CONNECTION = Euroconnector in Europe I believe.
