Firewire Dub - No Audio

I'm trying to copy from a DVCPRO deck, the Panasonic AJ-D230H and I can use it find with my 6-6 pin firewire connection into my laptop and I get video and audio, but when I use a 6-4 pin to go from the deck to my camera, the GL2 only shows video but no audio even though the audio levels on the deck are moving. I've tried different cables, any ideas!?

It sounds like the camera is not seeing a compatible audio track.
The magic word might be compatible here. Are you sure the deck
is sending the audio in the same format as the camera is expecting
them. Check 32/48 khz and 12/16 bit options for either 2 or 4
channel audio.

I dont think you can copy DVCPro to a DV deck. You might have to copy to the laptop and then out to the GL2 with the NLE set to output standard DV. The video is the same DV25 but the formatting on the tape is different I think. DVCPro has a control track and audio cue track.

no you can copy dvc pro to mini dv and dv cam no problem. (dont know the technicalities but have done so before)The audio i suspect is something to do with the sample rate which may be able to be changed as sugested above. Panasonic dv pro deck very usefull, can also play mini dv if you get adapter though apparently it wears the heads more than normal.
