Very interesting, Frank. This is the first "hard" info I've seen on the successor. It looks like they've added some sort of status display on the camera's side, just as the XL1/1s has featured. Othewise it looks to be about the same form factor and size as the GL1, eh?

Have you seen the "Optional" mic and xlr attachment? I bet that will be a pretty penny!

With the release of the GL-2, do you think the price of the GL-1 will drop, or will it stay the same?

You missed out on the GL1; it's discontinued. You might find one at some dealer somewhere but the rumor is that the $250 rebate program cleared the shelves.

Well, I saw this info at noon, PST, posted a blurb on my site, posted here, then fled. Now I'm back, and it's midnight, AND I can spend some time musing over this cam's specs. Boy it was a hot one today.

There are still some GL-1s kicking around Vancouver, but they're still a pretty penny (up here in Canada).

A few GL1's left at my sponsor Pro-Tape in Austin, Texas at www.pro-tape.com -- otherwise the GL1 is practically impossible to get now.
