Gl2??
I am considering purchasing a GL2 in the near future to get used to it before I go on a outdooe vacation this summer. I am concerned after reading several post here and other forums that Canon might be coming out with an upgrade to the GL2. Is this something that is likely to happen soon? Will it be significantly improved?

I don't have a clue if it's going to be replaced soon, but I'm sure it will be replaced in the future. Perhaps the NAB show will shed some light.

Well I also had this question, and guess - i bought a XM2 (PAL version of GL2). Of course, you can wait for GL3, but then you will think about GL4... Considering your needs GL2 will surely satisfy you. I also think that this is right time to pick up GL2 (rebate).

Canon offers rebates in Croatia as well? I went to canon.ca yesterday and didn't see any rebates mentioned. Are the rebates only in the USA?

I've only seen rebates in USA, but here in Croatia, and AFAIK in Europe, some Canon dealers offer some kind of discount price. e.g. my friend payed week ago about 1900 euro for new XM2.
