External Mic - Audio-Technica AT897
Hello!
Does anybody know if the configuration will be fine with a AT897 and a Shure A96F or a Beyerdynamic EA-86 mount hotshoe. I own a Canon XM2. Or maybe another good external mic that I could use with a adapter XLR cable? Thanks |

I just bought an AT897, Beyer EA-86, and a Lightwave EQ-104 "fuzzy." I use them with a Sign XLRpro. They work GREAT and even with a WD58 0.7 wide angle lens on my GL2, the Lightwave "fuzzy" does not intrude into the frame.
I'm a novice and this stuff is my first real audio-for-video gear, but the quick narration checks I've done so far have been obviously superior to on-camera. Since I have no other audio recording experience, I can't compare to other mic set ups such as the Shure. I'm just a very happy with my new gear!
