XM2 and Sony VCLHGD 1758
Help please with a current problem.
I have an XM2 that I use for wildlife video and get some very good results, however, sometimes I could do with an increase in the zoom range and have considered adding the Sony 1.7x telephoto adaptor. Has anyone tried this and was it successful? I want to retain the image sharpness of the XM2 and wondered if this adaptation would ruin this. Any thoughts or experiences? Chris. |

I think there were some other adapters people used. Try a
search. Don't think I've heard of the sony adapter before.

Hi Rob, many thanks for the suggestion. Since posting the question I discovered a number of comments regarding teleconverters and it appears the Centuary Optics DS-20TC-58 is considered the best option for quality, although a bit expensive. All teleconverters, I am told, contribute to some degree of colour fringing at the full extent of the zoom, but with a x2 converter on the XM2 there should be plenty to spare and therefore should not cause too many problems.
Regards, Chris. |
