Panda Cartoons?

Help! I have had my GL2 for about 3 years. It has worked flawlessly. Today, I loaded a high-grade Panasonic Advanced Master tape. This is the only type of tape I use. When I started to record, I got a series of strange graphics, wipes, screen splits and a cartoon graphic of two pandas playing basketball. This lasted about one minute. I think there is something wrong with my camcorder and not the tape because this occurred in Record Mode not play mode. Anybody else had this problem and if so what’s the fix.

Panda Cartoons when you load a Mini-DV tape?
That's trippy! haha

Maybe the tape was next to a magnetic recorder? An old VHS recorder maybe?

It's faulty somehow.

Is that a Demo Mode thing (page 39 of the manual)?

I wish. I have recorded the crazy clip to a DV tape. How can I post a link from this website, so others can view it? I have put my camera into Demo mode, but I cannot get the demo to play.
