what settings would you use?

i film kitesurfing usually in gloomy cloudy conditions

its a fast moving sport with random direction changes horizontal and vertical

would i be better having everything on auto?

i normally use the av setting but if i have to adjust the appature its difficult not to adjust the e.lock
i think there might possibly be something wrong with the wheel/button or is there something that decides whether to adjust the av or e.lock automatically depending on light conditions when i shift the wheel?

sorry if its a dumb question :-(
