1DX Mark II HDMI out question
For me, biggest flaw of 1DX Mark II camera is bad 1080p (because different sensor resolution, camera doesn't have beautiful Super35 1080p like 1DC). It is not just lower resolution then 4k, it is even mushy then other Canon DSLR cameras because whole sensor is used and therefore pixel binning must be applied. This is not situation with 4k, thanks to crop and 1:1 pixel using for 4k.
We all know that 1DX Mark II only output 1080p via HDMI. My question is, can you use camera in 4K (crop) mode and output 1080p via HDMI? That way 1080p should be much better then in-camera 1080p - not because "uncompressed" 1080p, but because of crop. Also, can you record only on external recorder, because recording everything simultaneously on 4k internally and changing cards is not helpful for this setup. If I am right, 1DX Mark II can be excellent 1080p camera with some now cheap 1080p external recorders. Thank you. |
