Canon 70-200mm F4 L IS too noisy for video?
I'd like to complement my 24-105 F4 L lens with the 70-200 F4 L IS but heard the IS is noisy. Is it too noisy for video in your experience? I use lav mics and/or a Zoom H4 and never use onboard mics as my primary sound source, but if this lens sounds like a cofffeegrinder I can imagine there is a problem nonetheless...

If you're not using the onboard mic I don't se how it can be a problem. I use wireless lavs and a Rode VideoMicPro and have never had a problem with camera noise on my 5D2, my 5D3, or my 60D, even though it can get a little noisy with IS turned on.

If there's such a rattle that you can hear it, it might be audible on a lav... I didn't know what to expect after reading Ken Rockwell's review of the lens...
Anyway, after reading some more about the lens for video (as well as stills) I decided to pull the trigger. I don't foresee any problems audiowise.
