On board audio options for Canon 1DC
Hello community,
First off, I apologize for the noob-ness of this question, but I am hoping those who are better versed in audio functionality can help me here. I am wondering what the best option would be for on board audio recording into the Canon 1DC. I have a Senhieser MKH416 and am looking to get the best audio possible. My research has lead me to believe that using the Sound Devices Mix Pre-D going straight into the camera body would be the best option, but I am wondering if I would ultimately get poor audio quality simply because I am using the DSLR as a recorder. Would there be a difference between a 1DC + SD Mix Pre-D vs recording straight into a Canon C300 for example? All help greatly appreciated. Thank you, ~Omar |

Both are 48 KHz 16 bits. There shouldn't be a difference. Wish they had made it 24 bits.

Re: On board audio options for Canon 1DC
What are the camera options for audio?
Do I have gain control? Levels? Peak? Can I send LEFT to both? Do I have wind filter? etc...? THanks, Marcello |
