DIY de-clicking of 50mm Nikkor
Since a lot of 5D shooters use manual nikon lenses, I figured this DIY declicking of a 50mm lens could be of some help.
I also included how to add drag and viscous feel for the aperture ring after de clicking without using messy grease. Step by step instructions and photos here; DIY Corner - Ramasola Productions Last edited by Ted Ramasola; May 19th, 2012 at 02:58 PM. Reason: added info |

Re: DIY de-clicking of 50mm Nikkor
I just completed the procedure on my 50mm by following the steps on your website. It works very well, and the clove-and-cinnamon-oil-based livestock fly repellant that I spilled into my tool-bag last year, soaking my roll of teflon tape, now gives me and my lens kit a third dimension of mystery that is sure to set me apart in the competitive DSLR-DP market. Thank you!

That's awesome. I've thought about doing this to my Rokkors, just a little hesitant about pulling lenses apart. I need to find a junk lens off KEH to tinker with...
