vacuum the lens?

so, filming in dusty, sandy Mali with 5D and a 24-105 lens, and now turning the focus is a little crunchy... do i try vacuuming around the edges? or is this a really bad idea????

Re: vacuum the lens?

I guess you could try it but if it was my lens I'd send it in for cleaning just to make sure that there are no particles stuck in there doing damage.

cheers
