5D Monitor question.

So when using an external monitor with the 5D, does the monitor show you ALL that you are recording? In other words does it cut a few inches off the sides, top and bottom, or does it record exactly what you are seeing? What you see is what you get?

When I use a monitor with my Canon XH A1s, it does NOT display all that I am recording, so it can get a little tricky. You definitly have to compensate for the amount you cant see in the monitor. (There's a technical name for what I'm trying to explain but I can't remember if for the life of me)

Thanks much;)

Yes, it shows everything, because the 5D image pillar- and letterboxes on an external monitor when viewing live as well as recording. You will easily see the full raster within this.

When playing back, the image is fullscreen, so depending on the scan of the monitor you are using you might start to see a little bit of image clip.
