New Style Fotodiox Nikon to EOS Adapter Not Work with Pre-Ai Lenses?
I ordered another Fotodiox Nikon to EOS adapter and received their "new" style Nikon F to EOS adapter.
It is different from the older style in that it has a "lip" on the lens side of the adapter. I didn't realize that this new style will not properly seat on the Pre-Ai Nikon lenses as it will hit the "ears" of Nikon lenses. The newer AI/AIS lens won't have this issue as the ears are further forward? [I guess one can remove the ears] The older style Fotodiox adapters[and the older style ones on eBay) do not have this issue. Anyway, I'm attaching some reference photos in case anyone is interested. |

John:
You can easily remove the "ears" on the pre-AI lens. Unless you are also using the pre-AI lens on a really old Nikon film body for the metering coupling, you don't need the "ears". Just thought you should know. Dan |
