What is your budget? (most important)

what type of shooting are you doing? a mic on camera is hardly ever a good idea. that being said, your circumstances may demand it. but still need to know what you are doing.

one BIG suggestion is to not bother recording onto the camera itself and use a second recorder that will have better recording characteristics.

But still the biggest question is how much are you willing to spend? with out a budget or knowing what you intend to shoot, is like asking for best vehicle that will fit a particular car stereo.
