JuicedLink into a Zoom H1

Has anyone tried running their JuicedLink into the latest budget offering from zoom (the H1)? I would love to see a Jon Fairhurst-style test of this combo. If it is as good as or better than the JuicedLink-magic-lantern-record-in-camera combo then it seems like a very cheap way to add a dual system option for those who already have the JuicedLink.

I have actually been feeding my ENG 44 field mixer into my Tascam DR07 which is a budget recorder just like the H1.

I bought the H1 a couple of weeks back as a second recording device.

I have to say I think the DR07 is better is some ways, though the H1 GUI might be a bit better in regular operation. My only experience with the H1 thus far was to mount it close to me, and use its files to test Dual Eyes, which I have just bought. I was using mic right off the H1, mounted close to my face in the test shot, and it actually sounded okay. I recorded in .wav format.

One thing that seems a bit strange is that even when you turn it off, it seems to eat juice from the single battery in the compartment. Not sure why. But if I set it down for a couple of days after inserting a new battery, when I come back to it, the battery will be pretty much depleted.

Hi Chris, thanks for your ideas. I have been reading about a battery drain issue with some of the first batch of H1s. Many people have sent their's back and had the issue fixed. Sounds like you might need to do the same.
