5D and the Merlin mounting question.
I've spent a couple hours trying to figure a way to mount the 5D to the Merlin Dovetail Plate and still have not figured out a solution. The problem being is the 5D has not location hole to stabilize the camera to the plate and it keeps coming loose. I know there are some using the merlin and would like to know if anyone has figured out a fix for this. I have tried gaffers tape with no luck. I would appreciate any help in this.
Thanks Bob |

I use the Merlin (with arm and vest) and have no problems mounting the camera. Is it possible you've replaced the original 1/4"-20 screw with one that's too long and you can't get it tightened down all the way?

No, I have the correct screw. I tighten it down really tight but it starts to move. There is no location hole to stop it from spinning. Any suggestions?

a bit of gaff tape on the plate helps cameras from slipping.
