5D screen goes black when plugging the microphone
5d users
Does this happen to you guys? When I plug my rode videomic , the LCD goes black, then when I take it out, it goes back ok. Id appreciate if anyone had solved the same issue thanks,

Are you sure you are not plugging the mic in the a v out.
They both take 1/8" jacks. I don't mean to insult you, it just seems likely.

That's probably it...i did that once and it freaked me out twice - once when I saw the black screen and then a second time when I realized just what I had done.
