Need Advice on Cards and Speed

I'm coming from film, also an EX-1 videographer, but confused on how fast my cards should be. I just got my 5D, and it came w/ an 8gb 100mb/sec card. I will be doing weddings with the camera. Friends suggest getting 4gb cards at 300mb/sec. Reason being 4gb can easily fit on a DVD. But am I splitting hairs when it comes to 300mb or 100 mb? I'm not doing sports, but don't want 4 second lag between shots. I'm most likely be shooting in the highest jpeg format. I want speed and money isn't an issue. Thank you.
