The right cable for ME66
I'm trying to plug my ME66 directly into my 5Dmkii without springing for a beachtek.
So my question is, what cable do I use? I've heard a bunch of peolpe use a Hosa Technology Mini Stereo Male to 3-pin XLR Female cable. I just don't understand the whole stero to mono thing. Is the ME66 considered stero or mono? Also is there a difference between these two cables other than the length? 1 foot Hosa Technology | Mini Stereo Male to 3-pin XLR | XVM-101F | B&H 5 foot Hosa Technology | Mono Mini Male to 3-Pin XLR Female | XVM-305F

You (presumably) want the output of the ME66 fed to both channels of the camera. This will give the same signal on both channels of your recording. |

Just noticed...
On second thoughts, better check with B&H directly because:
a) when you hit the link for the XVM-305F it brings up details of a different part - XVM-105M b) when you hit the link for the XVM-305F, the image clearly shows a lead terminating in a STEREO minijack (not a mono as described) Something funny about the part numbers? |
