Beachtek DXA-5d availability
Hi all. Does anybody know if any vendors have the Beachtek DXA-5D in stock? I've seen the audio tests with various mics and mixers from Dan Chung - he made two great videos testing mics such as the audio technica 875R shotgun, sennheiser EW100 series wireless, Sennheiser MKE400, Sanken mics with Auto Gain Control/AGC disabled and enabled. It seems like a decent solution besides the Zoom H4n. B&H, Adorama, and Markertek do not have any in stock. Thanks.

I checked their online store, and they say sold out there to. I am guessing they did not make a big production run because of potential and rumors that a firmware solution is coming.

Yes. From Tramm Hudson. He's working on Magic Lantern firmware that will (hopefully) give us gain control, audio monitoring out, and audio meters. He will also include exposure related features, such as zebras. There is still exploration left to do, but it's on the right track.

Bruce Dorn from iDC Photography has a short video review of the DXA-5D (also showing his "U-Boat" support rig)
