Would Aaton style handgrip work?
Since getting into that DSLR movie business I've wondered that maybe an Aaton style (wooden) handgrip would be the best solution along with shoulder mount and LCD loupe slash optical viewfinder. Does anyone have access to an old Aaton XTR 16mm cam/rental to try if it works on 15mm rails and 5d MKII.
The design is much better than any pistol style grip and even better for one handed operation (left hand on focusing barrel/FF). Search for the pictures with google "aaton wooden handgrip" to see what I mean - it costs about $800 so it's worth a try to manufacture an alternative. T |

Toenis, thank you for this idea, that would be great. Need to adapt, start, stop button to Canon.
I'd buy one if someone made them. |
