Can HD video footage be captured in Pro Res onto Final Cut Pro if played out from the Canopn 5D Mk II via HDMI? And then used along with the EX-3 footage?

I think if you play it out of the HDMI you only get 480p and not full 1080p but I'm not sure

I've read that videos play back in 1080p, but live monitoring steps down to 480p.

So, what is default way to import 5DII footage to Final Cut Pro?

Capturing HDMI to ProRes on PLAYBACK is still a good workflow -- you get a real-time transcode and no colorspace problems. Capturing live might be preferable to some folks (removes a step), but on the other hand, not having to drag a computer around with you isn't a bad thing, heh...
