Another Live View HDMI capture thread...
Just checking if anybody has had an opportunity to do a HDMI live view 1080i capture yet.
With the camera set to M I assume that it's not just an exposure approximation like live view on the other modes. I was just wondering about a hypothetical configuration for direct to disk recording and control of aperture on EF, shutter and ISO. I understand there is an overlay on the HDMI output. Could someone refresh my memory if it can be disabled like the on camera live view with the info button? Worst case would just have to crop and shoot a little wider format, depending on what the overlay looks like I think I could live with that. |

Real-time capturing off of liveview is useless as I understand it because it's low res and has the overlay (which cannot be turned off). Everyone using HDMI is capturing off of playback.

It's only reduced resolution if you hit record.
According to the manual the preview is 1080i and so is the blackmagic intensity card. So technically anybody capturing playback over HDMI would not get a better signal than live view. Other than the overlay of course. |
