Uncompressed HDMI anyone
OK! I was one of the early watchers - staying up and watching threads here all through the night during the photokina launch.
The question then was about Uncompressed 10-but HDMI. It still is! Will someone put me out of my misery ? I have no access to a MkII unless I buy one from another country. DOES the 5d Mark II output uncompressed 10-bit HDMI in all its glory ? Note, is it uncompressed (easy to check) AND 10-bit (harder to check, needs understanding of color space) ? Anyone ?? |

Live HDMI out of both the D90 and the 5D MII basically shows an external version of the camera's LCD screen during live view. When playing back recorded clips it will be playing from the card where the movie has been compressed via H.264. So there is no way to get an uncompressed HD signal out of either the 90D nor 5D MII via HDMI.
