Astrik mark next to shutter speed lcd screen

Hello, just starting working with my Canon 70d. I noticed on the lcd screen there is an astrik mark next to the shutter speed???? Also when I use the meter to adjust my exposure I see two brackets instead of one like on the 60d. All of this is being done in video mode. Can someone tell me why. Thank you.
