Replacing hot shoe?
Hey guys, quick question. I dropped my t3i a short distance onto carpet a few days ago, and at first didn't notice it having done anything, I later realized it had bent the left side of the hot shoe some, but not much. I tried using a screwdriver to open it up some, and got it at least wide enough to slide my shotgun in, but I'd kind of like to fix it. I looked online, the parts look cheap and the process looks easy, but I didn't know if I'd be voiding a warranty or something by swapping it myself. Is this something worth taking it somewhere for or should I just do it?
Not sure if I'll get any responses from the video forum, but I'm not a member of any photography forums :\ Thanks, Evan

Re: Replacing hot shoe?
You shouldn't have any warranty issues if you use genuine Canon parts.

Re: Replacing hot shoe?
Contact Canon support. You might get it fixed free even after warranty. They fixed my out of warranty GL2 for free before.
