Adobe Media Encoder keeps 7d footage contrasty

As I imagine many 7d owners did, I shot a fair bit of footage on the standard picture style settings before switching to a neutral, flattened look to get more detail out of the dark areas of my image. My problem is that even though I'm shooting super flat now, when I transcode the files to avi's to edit in Vegas, Adobe Media Encoder somehow puts the contrast back into the image. I'm using the Matrox MPEG-2 I-frame HD codec to transode the files.

How can I keep this from happening?
