Aperture stuck wide open
Was shooting this weekend and noticed that I am unable to move the aperture from anything other than wide open on any of my lenses (which all work fine on the 5dm2). I've never had any problems like this before with my 7d. Any ideas for solving this?

Hi Tim,
I can't help but ask, what program mode are you using? Also, if you set the program mode dial to "Green Box" (full auto) mode, point the camera at something bright and press the shutter release halfway, are you getting an aperture value readout in the viewfinder that's less than maximum? |

Re: Aperture stuck wide open
Sounds like the contacts on the lens or the body might be dirty. This happens when the body can't communicate with the lens, it just stays wide open (like if you use canon lens on a gh1).

You checked the lock for the aperture wheel? It's a easy miss, especially is you change between cameras.

Re: Aperture stuck wide open
I typically deal directly with the manufacturer. You'll find that there are only a few truly independent repair depots - none of them are really Nikon Authorized. They might say they "do" Nikon warranty work but they'll probably send it to Nikon and mark it up accordingly.
