After Effects Time Warp or Twixtor for Canon 7D footage?

All,

I was blown away by the video Steve Shilson did with Canon 7D footage and Twixtor.

Inspired by his work, I am thinking about doing a sports slow motion project when the spring comes.

I went to check the price tag and it is quite expensive for my budget. I have After Effect CS4 with Time Warp. I was wondering what the differences are between After Effect Time Warps and Twixtor (specially while working with 7D material footage)?

And as of Twixtor; besides the differences outlined on their website, which would you say the differences are (on your experience) between the regular and pro version?

Is it really worth perusing the pro version? Or the regular flavor will do the trick?

Is After Effects Time Warp pretty much the same thing as the Twixtor regular version?

Look forward to hear any input :)

Thank you much in advantage!!

I'm not sure of the difference between the regular version and the pro, but all I can say is that Twixtor is definitely worth it, IMO better than AE's...

OK, well that is great to know. I appreciate your input. If I ever find a video tutorial explaining the differences, I will post it in here.

Thanks John,

Hey Stephen,

Interesting and useful. Here it is another answer I've got in the Effects sub forum:
