Need help setting up some B-roll shots
This might be just way too vague a question to ask on a forum but hopefully someone can help.
I need to shoot some b-roll for a feature I did last summer. I just want to use my Canon 7D and the light provided by the locations where I need to get coverage. Some locations I need to shoot are a night club in full party motion, a resturant with patrons eating and a couple of exteriors. No movie lights or anything. The lenses I have at my disposal are: Pentax 28mm 2.8 Pentax 50mm 1.4 Pentax 135mm 2.0 Sigma 14mm 3.5 Canon 24-135mm kit lens (doubt I'll use this) I do have a colorist but I plan on shooting specific items to help match the scenes better, like pouring drinks at a bar for the transition rather than people dancing in an obviously darker lit club. Any idea what kind of settings you'd use on the camera? Arpeture settings? I tried contacting my original DP but can't reach him (he's on location on another project). I'd like to try shooting this myself first before I have to resort to more drastic measures. I'm thinking that the 50mm 1.4 would be the lens to use because of it's arpeture size but if there's a way to use the 14mm 3.5 I'd like to hear suggestions. When we shot we kept the iso at 250-300 but I'll obviously have to bump that up, I'd just like to make sure I don't get grain. Any help, I'd appreciate it. |
