Major 7D Problem Please Help Video Distorted
Video here: YouTube - MVI 4689
I was shooting last night and saw this on my screen. The video looks like it's has colored peaking turned on. I'm shooting with the BG attached. This morning I've tried everything, removing the BG, and reseting the camera. What I found is that this problem is very intermitent. I was able to get the distortion to come back with the BG attached. But when removed it works fine. Then I put the BG back on and it works. One thing I noticed is that when it begins distorting i loose all control of my aperature, shutter & any other function besides the record. It only acts up while recording. I'm shooting in manual. I've been playing with this for the past 1.5 hrs and am at a point where the problem hasent returned. I'm on set again today and am very worried about using this camera. Can anyone help? -Aaron |

Yikes. I can't see how the BG (battery grip) could be introducing that issue. From the video it looks like the camera has a serious intermittent problem with the electronics involved in the imager. Wish I could be of more help.
I would also be very nervous about using that camera for a shoot. If possible can you get another 7D/60D/t2i as a back up for the shoot? |

Yeah, I'd definitely send it to Canon ASAP, along with that clip.
