T2i and a live monitor
Hello All -
Quick question to see if anyone has done this: I'm about to start a production, and trying to save cash where I can. Instead of buying a field monitor, I'm thinking about just using one of my spare computer monitors. I don't have any plans to actually use the software to control the camera; I'm literally just looking to go from camera (using HTC-100 HDMI) to my HD monitor. Has anyone done this? Does that work?

It should, but the live output isn't full HD - it's 480 I believe. Certainly good enough for basic colors, composition, and (prolly) focusing.

Yes, it will work.
But be sure the monitor can handle the switch from 1080 to 480 when recording.
Then enjoy the extra monitor on your pc! |
