Weird Icon Popped Up While Shooting

I was shooting some footage this morning when an icon popped up on the LCD screen...and I have no idea what it is. It appeared at about the two o'clock position on the LCD screen about halfway between dead center and the edge of the LCD after I had been shooting for about three hours. I was in 720P60 and it appeared for a few seconds. I could not really tell what it was. I cycled that camera off then on and it was gone. It appeared again when I was in 1080P24...again very briefly. I shut the camera off for about five minutes (I was leaving the location) and then turned it back on. No icon.

I came home and looked in every 7D book I have and could not find it.

Anybody have any clue what this might be? I am mystified.

Did it look like a thermometer in red? If so, means the camera is warning you it is overheating.

Tim, I think that may have been it. Something in the back of my head remembered overheating was an issue. It was a hot day...I was out in the direct sun. And now that I remember it could well have been a little temperature icon.

The CF buffer is on the lower right of the screen.
