Tokina 11-16mm USA model vs. Japanese model. Difference?
Hi, anyone use the Tokina 11-16mm Japanese model? Does it perform just as good? Do you need an adapter for the 7D to fit the lens? And what do you use it for? (weddings, events, film)
Thanks. |

Just got the Japanese version deliverd today (UK eBay)
Can;t compare it to the US version as I've never used it, but ut seems great to me. Built like a tank, not too heavy, slightly smaller than my 17-55, nice crisp images, and very wide (wider than I was expecting it to be) USed it at a wedidng today on my 550d while my 7d had hte 17-55. seemed like a good combo. |

I don't see why it would be any different, except maybe the markings on the lens. You don't need an adapter if the lens has the Canon EOS mount.

I'd imagine the biggest difference would be the warranty (or lack of).
