Forum or Community?
Over the past several months there’s been a trend of more of the same questions continually being asked and answered, “which DSLR Rig is the best.” “where can I get the Tokina 11-16 f2.8” etc..
These questions are as important today for people new to DSLR shooting as they were six months ago when the 7D was released, and all of these questions have certainly garnered a great deal of debate. However, wouldn’t you think that with all of this debate that there would be more sample clips? But it seems like we’re getting fewer sample clips, not more. Are many of these questions being asked by people who don’t own a 7D or 5DMkII? Or if you own one your not using it? Or you don’t want to post examples of your work? Is this forum (community) simply about the camera or is it a community aimed at helping producers use these camera’s more effectively, because if its the latter then there should be more examples of what people are trying to do. More importantly there should be a lot of “feedback” about the clips that are posted. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that if you don’t own a DSLR don’t ask any questions. Quite the opposite, the time to get the answers to many of these questions is before you purchase, but I’d sure like to see more of what people are doing and would like a lot more feedback about what I’m doing. Is this the wrong way to look at this? |

The short answer is that it's both. It's not an "either / or" type of situation.
