My metering is accurate with Canon, Tamron and Tokina lenses. But when I use my ancient Nikkor lenses with adapters, the meter seems to be about a stop off. It wants me to overexpose. So I use an incident meter when shooting with the Nikkors.

another question that may be playing into this problem. What light meter mode setting do you guys use? I'm not sure if my choice on that is contributing to this problem. Interested to hear your comments. Thanks everyone!
