Is this the right cable? or Should I go with?

Ok two quick questions .

Is this the right cable: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/control ... 476&is=REG
to connection this mic: http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired ... ndex.html/
to my 7d?

I am also goign to get this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/control ... 809&is=REG
in my order as well.

Or

For the same price as the cable and shock mount I can get a Rode videomic 1st generation (does not have the db pads but does have the roll off) from a friend.

Opinions? Sugestions?

Check your links, they don't work. If the question is about a female XLR to male 1/8" cable, and a shotgun mic, then the answer is yes it will work, as long as the shotgun has its own power supply (a battery, phantom power won't work.)
