Ummm, please pardon my ignorance, but once this is installed and hacked, is it supposed to allow you to "import" your video clips into FCP, or is it supposed to allow you to "Log and Capture" from the camera directly plugged in?

It allows you to "Log and Transfer" from the SDHC memory card loaded into a card reader. "Log and Transfer" should appear just below "Log and Capture" in the Final Cut menu.

I'm running FCP 6.06 on OsX 10.4 on a G5 Quad and am not getting anywhere. Can't even find the link for the plugin- page changed or something, can't find it when searching the Canon site.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Thanks for pointing out that we could use the Safari browser to get to the file location! I kept searching for the file and trying to "cd" to that folder with no luck!
You're instructions worked perfectly for me. Quote:

Re: Canon EOS Final Cut Plugin will work with T2i
I just followed all these annoying steps and finally got it to register the T3i and now FCP will Log and Transfer and recognize the T3i. What a pain that was. But it worked! Changed my cameras.plist file to:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>60D</key> <array> <string>Canon EOS 60D</string> </array> <key>1D</key> <array> <string>Canon EOS-1D Mark IV</string> </array> <key>5D</key> <array> <string>Canon EOS 5D Mark II</string> </array> <key>7D</key> <array> <string>Canon EOS 7D</string> </array> <key>T3i</key> <array> <string>Canon EOS REBEL T3i</string> </array> </dict> </plist> |
