Man that was quick! I was wondering when they'd start selling these aftermarket batteries.

Watch out for falling prices:

New Battery Pack For Canon LP-E8 EOS Digital Rebel T2i - eBay (item 250593468164 end time Mar-09-10 16:22:23 PST)

Maybe it won't be long before the BG-E8 battery grip clones appear. Sure miss having one but I'm not going to pay what Canon thinks they're worth.

I just ordered 3...

batteries from Hong Kong for the price of 0.55 (that's a fraction of one) Canon batteries.
I've been happy with other aftermarket batteries, so we'll see how this goes!

Just wanted to let you guys know the aftermarket batteries do work in the camera and display battery power. They also charge in the charger. I'm ordering another 2 now.

I bought one from China for 13 quid inc postage and was very happy until it died on its first job. There may be some good ones out there, but i for one will buy the Canon ones in future.

I have got two. Both are working well. There is no problem with them. 7USD each ... nice price.

Bought the Canon battery for normal price....

Saw something saying that the Canon charger won't work on 3rd party batteries - don't know if that's true, but what the hey.

As you guys use these 3rd party brands, can you keep us up-dated on their performance? 'Cause obviously I don't want to pay full price for the next battery. Thanks!

Used them twice so far...
Charger works fine. (so much for marketing lies)
At this price I can afford a "dud" or two.

sounds like good deals, but I won't use aftermarket batteries until after the warranty has expired. Just 90 days. :)

I just bought two of the ones for $6.99 USD. For that price, if these work, I'll probably buy 2 or 3 more as back ups.

I saw a 3rd party charger on ebay for $12.00 I'll post a link if I find it again.
