Rolling Shutter Comparison (7D & 5D mkII)
I was able to do one more test last night with the help of my friend Michael from Santiago Filmworks. We tried to keep things a little more consistent. The first shot is mislabeled. The f-stop of the 5D mkII is 6.3, not 8.

It looks like there is very little difference in the rolling shutter between the two in 30p mode. Thanks for doing the test!
Would you be able to do a similar test with the 7D in 60p mode? It seems that the scanrate must be faster than the 5D Mark II's 25 ms, since 60p requires no slower than 16 ms. It would also be interesting to see if the 24p mode scans at the same rate as the 30p mode. |
