Sigma 24-70 ART vs Tamron 24-70 G2
Hi Guys,
Need a 24-70mm lens and am thinking between the newly released Sigma 24-70 ART vs Tamron 24-70 G2. Which one is a better buy? As I assume both lenses will be really good optically. The only differences I can think of are 1) Tamron is 100 grams lighter 2) Tamron is supposed to have better Image Stabilization? People claim that the VC in Tamron is better than Sigma's OS. I am not sure if this is true, but this lens being used for video. the better IS lens would be more desirable for me... Any thoughts? Last edited by Hakob Hakobyan; August 28th, 2017 at 09:53 PM. |

I compared the Sigma 17-50 against the Tamron one a couple of years ago, another difference I found was the Sigma focus ring runs the correct way for me, meaning to the left (looking from the camera end) for infinity, whereas the Tamron is the opposite. To avoid confusion in the field I went Sigma.

Both are great, but what Dave said... sometimes simple is best.
