C300 Mk1 - Should I buy a used one now?

Hi,

I work in corporate and ocasionally I do some ads. I currently work with a BMPC 4K but I don't like some things of it
1) Too dark
2) No audio in camera
3) Screen
etc...
I almost never use the RAW features.

I was thinking of getting a USED C300 that can now be found around 3.000€.
Would you say is a good choice?

What is the quality of the external 4K signal?
Will it never get an internal 4k through firmware upgrades?
Where can I find an extensive review of the camera including 4K (around everybody seems to be talking about Mkii and can't find much on Mk1) ?

Thanks, M

No 4k with the C300 mk 1. You might have been thinking of the C500.

However C300 mk 1 is a very good camera and still used extensively in the industry. Beautiful picture quality and ergonomics.

I would imagine you could pick one up for about 2,500 Euros with Dual Pixel Autofocus.

Thank you.
I'm so stupid.. I really was convinced C300 had 4K output (not internal)... Why shouldn't it?
I'll have to start watching into FS5 then... C500 is too over my budget

C500's going for a song now - maybe 2 to 3 thousand Euro.

You'll need an external recorder though for the 4k. Atomos etc etc

I think a used one will cost around double that price... 5000€ or more

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4k C100mkiii this year at NAB. Likely around $5-6k. Certainly not a given, but it would make sense, as Canon needs something to compete with FS5 and FS7.

Absolutely.. but they really seem not interested... They moved to 4k 2 year later from the others and now they seem concentrated on the high end (C700). Want to see my small dream? Check the photo. :)
