4K Footage from 1DXII

Sharing some 4K footage from Canon 1DX II. All shots were handheld without rig from a moving motor boat.

Impressive shots Sabyasaachi,

I wouldn't want to get stuck on a mudbank with one of those critters!

Nearest we get to that in the UK is a frog.

Stewart,
Your love and adoration for your mother-in-law is pretty impressive. :)

PS: During my childhood I had read a story of someone kissing a frog and it turned into a royal prince or princess.

Mark,
The croc in the opening shot ran pretty fast. I shot it at 4K 50p and then after it entered into water, I quickly shifted to 4K 25p. The shifting was quick by pressing the touch screen at the back. The 4K 50p gobbles up card space pretty fast. The files are nice. My local Canon guys were pushing me to buy the 1DC instead of the 1DX II. Now I feel my decision is right.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

This is the one with touch screen focusing, isn't it?

That is a difference maker for me. I have it on my 70D and love it. My next camera will almost certainly have to have it, too.

Me too. After 40 years of consumer-level mediocrity, AF is finally coming of age with the combo of face detection, tracking, and touch screen. Canon is doing great with this.

Yes it has touch screen. I also have the 80D as another backup primarily for stills and hopefully one or two extra angles for closeup. I wish the 1DX II had a flip screen. Some of the footage that you saw was shot at 400mm and 140mm. Without rigs holding the camera infront of you and using the touch screen is not easy. So flip screen would have been great.
